Into the desert

“Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands. Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord." Deuteronomy 8:2-3

Child Nutritionist For Hire

What a little parrot he is becoming huh?! This is my nephew Fritz, by the way. That last comment is "Grandpa's awake now" (he was never actually asleep, but watching football=sleeping). He is rapidly learning the English language these days, it's simply amazing and so delightful. He spent the night at my parents house on New Years Eve, so I stopped by today to play and have lunch.

Here's another cute video from today:

We also went outside to play in the snow. Here's some highlights:

That round circle of snow on the bricks is actually a snow pizza. :)

He could barely walk in his snow suit...

I taught him it's ok to eat snow, only if it's white. Too bad he doesn't know colors yet.

I got to drive him back to my brother's house in Plymouth, but the challenge was to keep him awake so that he would nap when he got home. It was a struggle. I sounded like a blubbering fool for 40 minutes straight in order to keep his eyes open. I sang, I pointed out banks, coffee shops, tire stores and almost every sign on the highway. I pointed out at least a dozen trucks and the color of every stop light were at. It worked though!
