It was a great trip overall for both Nick and me. We really enjoyed spending the week together. I got to meet everyone in his immediate family and a few of his close friends. We also had a handful of days on our own exploring the places around Milwaukee from Nick's youth. We visited lots of schools, the houses he grew up in, a few nice breweries (we had the most fun on the Lakefront Brewery Tour), ran together in 70+ degree sunshine, took the family dog Bailey for a many walks, ate lots of good food with family and friends, and relaxed with great coffee on Lake Michigan in a wonderful coffee shop which was converted from an old pump house- Alterra Coffee. I enjoyed noticing all the differences and similarities between Wisconsin folks and Michigan folks...especially the great Wiscaaaaahsin accent.
